Current is an RSS reader built on a simple idea: your feed should never make you feel behind.
There are no unread counts. No red badges. No number climbing while you sleep, silently tallying everything you haven't read. Current shows you what's new right now, and that's it. Nothing is owed. Nothing is overdue. You open it when you want to read, and whatever's there is what's there.
The design is intentional. Every screen, every interaction, every animation was built to feel calm and unhurried. Articles are presented beautifully with clean typography and generous whitespace. Navigation is fluid and intuitive. The app gets out of the way and lets you focus on what matters: the writing.
Current supports multiple sync providers so you can bring your existing subscriptions:

* Currents now obey source velocity
* Saved articles do not refetch content (no duplicate fetches!)
* Clear all data now completely wipes iCloud settings as well so connected devices also clear
* Auto advance on release now works properly when oldest first is set
* Fully redesigned settings (much simpler, more calm and no more overwhelming list of options)
* Many improvements to parsing and rendering in line images, videos, bluesky posts (now uses native AT proto fetch)
* Webcomics mode now displays full untruncated caption / alt text
* Japanese (and other languages) parse and display correctly in reader
* Code formats correctly in reader now
* OPML exports now include Currents (and their belongings) in standardized format
* Source name changes now persist back to sync service (if used)
* Resolved an issue where authors don’t sync down from sync services on bootstrap for new device
iOS / iPad
* Fixed a crash when trying to save images
* Resolved intermittent blank spaces showing in the river
* Significantly improved moments where scrolling is locked due to background activity
* Removed “default” theme which could sometimes cause corruption and a crash
* Fixed issue where release might not actually unsave from saved
* Rotating to landscape on iPhone is /much better/
* Removed sync toast that would block the voices navigation bar
* Significantly sped up saving
* Fixed a bug where reading stats might include time the app has spent in the background
* Many small design / layout enhancements
* Resolved an issue on iPad where sidebar would auto collapse

RSSフィードの再発見へ

昔からよくさまざまなRSSフィードを読み続けてきたが、しばらくアプリ使っていないとどうしても積読状態になりがち。未読がやまほどあるとか、このフィードやたら更新が多くて別のフィードを見逃してしまうとか、なんとなく事務的に古い投稿をスクロールしているだけだとか。
このアプリはフィードこそ、永久的なものではなく「フィードは川のように流れ、過ぎ去るのも同然」の発想から生まれたらしい。また、フィードの作者たちを「声」として捉え、それぞれの声が届けてくれる投稿を本棚みたいに整理しておくとか、少し不思議な要素が含まれている。
感触が新鮮で、これからどんなアプリに進化していくか楽しみです！
